ABOUT US
Brenda Aelick
Born and raised in northern Ontario Canada , the third of six children . Two older sisters two younger sisters and a younger brother (talk about middle child) . We grew up on a mixed farming operation run entirely by our immediate family .

That's me in the middle (age 17)
with my two younger sisters .
We raised cattle , horses , sheep , pigs , ducks , geese , chickens as well as market gardening (not all at the same time). My sisters my brother and I were all very active in the local 4H clubs , this kept us out of trouble and VERY busy .

My first Aussie was a family dog (blue merle) my parents bought when I was just 12 or 13 years old ,his name was Blue . Unfortunately he was trapped and killed by a neighbor who was in the fur trade .

My next Aussie was all MINE , he was a red merle with prick ears and only NSD reg. . But he was the BEST!!!!!! his name was Reno .

Reno
We lost him at the age of 3 to a farmer who carelessly left rat poison out .
After graduating from high school , I attended Humber college in Toronto Ont. , taking the Equine studies program (I thought I wanted to be a professional horse trainer) .
I moved to Southern Ont. in 1981 and got a job on a horse farm , training and conditioning Quarter Horse race horses . I also gave riding lessons and maintained the stables . I soon realized that working at this pace for $50 a week plus room and board for myself my dog and my horse was not getting me anywhere .

I quit that job and got a factory job .... regular hours and decent pay .
My next Aussie was Samson , a blue merle , ASCA , NSD and CKC reg. He was with me until July 9 2002 when he died peacefully in my arms at the age of 15 years 8 1/2 months . He was a great dog and the start of my present kennel .

Oct 2007 , we pulled up stakes and moved back north .
We now live in Echo Bay ON. ( near Sault St. Marie ) on a lovely 250 acre property that offers room to roam for all of our critters ( we added another horse ) as well as Rob and I .
In time we plan to start up a training facility as well as offer pet photography , but for now ( only Feb 2008 ) I am just enjoying the property and the TIME with the dogs that I never seemed to have when I had a full time job .
As we age , we do not get better or worse , we just become more ourselves .
